is it just a little thing for the kids to think they are really writing him…or do people actually read the letters?
People actually read those letters. It is called operation Santa the purpose is to have people read the letters children write to Santa and then those people either write back or send a gift and write back. It’s done on a volunteer basis so anyone can pick up those letters in the post office and respond.
someone in my building got my check in their mailbox and told me that I had to go in the post office and tell them to change the address because my check was going to keep going to their box jsut because they had the same last name. Is this possible? I never changed anything. Or is this person telling me a late april fools joke? Is it even legal?
The Post Office is required to deliver mail to the address shown on the envelope. If it is mailed to your correct address, you should receive it in the future without having to contact the Post Office.

But I meant public mailbox.
Misspelled, I meant Nyx.
They probably leave it in the mailbox & assume that the wallet belongs to the mailbox owner. They cant pick it up and rifle through it if thats what your asking.
If you find a wallet, you should give it to a local police dept. They will trace down the owner and see that its returned.
I am in a small city. I moved the mail box from on my house to right in front of my house only five feet from the original spot. I actually did this so the postal worker wouldn’t have to climb any steps to deliver my ebay packages. My other mailbox was at least 20yrs old anyway. I placed the numbers on it. Its a Step 2 brand, plastic, looks like a house type box. Its premade to be the correct height.
I’m sure its OK as long as it is the right height. If you can catch the carrier and ask his or her opinion.
The new postal rules would have you move it closer to the road anyway. You would have probably all ready been told if it wasn’t a small town.
Im trying to sell a playing card on ebay and im just wondering if i have to go to the post office to mail it even if its just in the US? Can i mail it with my mailbox? If not, why? If so, what shipping do i write?

I received a book in the mail and they say that if I don’t want the book I could return it with their postage paid label and just place it on the same box. But is it okay if I just drop it off in the mail drop off box or do I have to go to the post office?
As long as the postage is attached, I see no reason why you can’t put it in a mail box. Unless, of course, it’s really large book and won’t fit.
