I have lived here 20 years and am on mail box 13. The strange thing is 2 years ago I put a second mail box in front of the real one and filled it with rocks and no one has hit it.

My man is a brick mason and he builds mailboxes for people and they either use brick or rock!!! I like native rock myself!!!

Get a pretty wrought iron garden arch and place it over the mailbox. Just sink it deep enough into the ground at the bases. You could even plant a nice flowering vine on it. The vandals will not be able to hit the mailbox because it will be protected by the iron arch. Good luck.

It's a federal offense. Contact your postmistress/master for the procedure. Federal tampering, it would seem to me, would enable the post office to call on its inspector to serve as surveillance. If not, I would file a complaint with the FBI.

Hi Bren. Have you notified your local police about it? It's a federal offense to vandalize mail boxes and if this is a recurring problem, maybe they can patrol your neighborhood a little more often.
