Can I put a usps parcel post package in the public mailbox to ship it out?

I have a parcel post usps package. Am I allowed to put it in the public mailbox to ship it out, or do I have to walk all the way to the post office?

The 13 oz rule only applies to anything that is put in the mailbox that weights more than 13 oz with postage.

So yes if you can fit your parcel post package into a mailbox with a printed postage that would be just fine.

You can also choose free parcel pickup for the next day.

    Anything over 13oz must be mailed at the Post Office.

    only if it weighs 13 ounces or less…otherwise, you can drop it in the parcel box at the post office or give it to your mail delivery person.
