Is it legal to put flyers ON THE MAILBOX POST, not the mailbox itself?

I am starting up a lawncare business, and want to put my flyers ON THE MAILBOX POST, not the box. Is it legal to do so?

From what I have read I didnt see anything directly answering my question about whether it was legal to put them on the post, NOT THE BOX.
I am only a teenager and looking to put up flyers just in my neighborhood, so this isn’t an "official" business

Good luck starting your business. It is not legal to put flyers on the mailbox post. It is trespassing. Also, if the flyers blow away, you are littering.

Ask permission to post your flyers in laundromats, grocery stores, etc.

Even if you are just a teenager, it is still a business. Sorry.

Not on the post, on or in the box, all are illegal. Put it on the doors.

You might want to post your flyers on light poles,
telephone poles. It is illegal to put anything inside
the mailbox that doesn’t have a stamp. If some
residents have newspaper chutes you can put
your flyers in there. Call the post office and ask
them. Good luck with your business.
