I’m about to replace my mailbox and post. I live in Georgia. Where would I find a cheap and decent quality one (either at a store or online)? What do you think of those plastic ones (I think Rubbermad makes one)?
Home Depot or Lowe’s or some other hardware store should sell what you need. Check out the Rubbermaid mailbox reviews at Amazon.com. I also found a place that sells both the mailboxes and the posts on-line, for price comparison. Good luck.

See if there is a local plastics company before you go to the hardware store.
My husband once paid $35 for a mailbox I was able to buy for $5 at a local store.

Home Depot has a nice selection, as does Lowes.
And the Rubbermaid ones? Well, if your neighborhood has a lot of "mailbox baseball" games, you might consider it a sound investment in spite of how it may look compared to more "traditional" types…

Home Depot or Lowe’s. I would use metal it doesn’t deteriorate. Buy a "treated post". Itt is worth the extra money because it won’t rot as soon and wood loving insects don’t usually care for them. You can paint your new mailbox to help to retard rusting. I have my same metal mailbox for 35 yrs.
