I’d like to go around and distribute political flyers by placing them inside mailboxes. Is this legal? Do they have to be stamped or something?

So, just to confirm it will be ok if I slip the flyers in between the mailbox and the little flag?

Yes it is illegal to put them inside. Hook them to the outside so you don’t get in trouble. All it takes is one complaint to the Postal Service.

Yes this is illegal the best thing to do is place it on their door or porch area where they enter their home. It is a federal offence to go into someone elses mailbox.

I’m pretty sure you can’t do that, but another option would be to slip them through mail slots, or tape them to door. (You can TAPE them to a mailbox, you just can’t open it.)
