Who do you call if your housing communities mailboxes are broken?

I live in a gated community and I was shocked to find that mine along with 10 other mailboxes where completely ripped open. I’ve left messages with the management company but isn’t it a serious federal thing? how can I put the pressure on the management company to fix? How can I complain to USPS? their number doesn’t answer.

The boxes are the responsibility of the owner; in this case the association. You need to keep trying to report it to them. Do you have a board of trustees for the association? If so, contact them; all of them.

The USPS only requires an approved receptacle; they don’t provide it.

in the meantime, you can probably arrange to pick up your mail at the post office.

every town has a local post office you can go there.
but the next time you pay your rent, and tell the others as well.
to put a post it note on it and tell them no more money, it will be put in escrow, until you have proper mail boxes.

make sure it doesn’t say it in the lease that it’s your responsibility.
screwing with the mail, even the box is sill a federal offense.
