Do I have to get a new mailbox?

I recently moved to a new house in a rural area and have a new USPS carrier. I order books through the mail a lot and the times she has delivered them, she pulls in the driveway and honks for me to get them. She always seems kind of rude. Today she asked if I planned to "keep getting all these packages" and said that if so I would need to "get a mailbox big enough to accommodate them". My mailbox is the usual size and I’m really not sure how I could upgrade. My old mail carrier just left any boxes on the porch. I don’t want to sound rude or ungrateful, but isn’t delivering the mail this woman’s job? Does anyone know where I can look up postal regulations and if I have a right to complain?

I don’t think you should but fear she is within her rights to leave them at or on top of the box if they don’t fit. Regrettable situation all around. What does she gain anyway from giving you a hard time? Maybe talking to her, finding out why exactly this is such an annoyance and or problem for her, is the best way to resolve this. Maybe a few friendly words can do wonders

If that doesn’t help, costumer service might be able to help you out. Good luck
